You can book Delta Vacations packages on Delta’s vacation booking site by choosing your destination, travel dates, travelers, flights, hotels and available extras. Depending on the package, you can combine a Delta flight with a hotel, car, transfers or activities, and SkyMiles Members can use miles toward eligible vacation packages.

How to Book a Delta Vacations Package Compete Guide

Delta Vacations Package Options

Delta Vacations allows you to combine more than one travel component into a single booking. Available options can vary by destination, dates and availability.

Package option or component What it can include
Flight + Hotel Airfare and a hotel or resort stay
Flight + Car Airfare and a rental car
Hotel + Car/Transfers Hotel with a rental car or ground transportation
Activities Eligible tours, attractions or other activities
All-inclusive stays Eligible resorts where meals, drinks and selected resort services are included according to the property’s terms

Delta also offers hotel, car and other travel products separately. Package availability and inclusions depend on your trip selection.

How to Book a Delta Vacations Package

Here’s how the online booking process typically works:

  1. Open Delta Vacations. Go to the Delta Vacations booking page.
  2. Enter your trip details. Add your departure city, destination, travel dates, number of rooms and travelers.
  3. Review available packages. Compare available package options for your selected destination and dates.
  4. Choose your flight and hotel. Review the available flights, room types, resort details and package combinations.
  5. Add other options. Depending on the destination, you may be able to add a rental car, transfers or activities.
  6. Review the total price. Check the package price, payment schedule, taxes and any items that are not included.
  7. Read the change and cancellation terms. Different parts of a package can have different rules.
  8. Enter payment information and complete the reservation. Your booking confirmation should show the important details for the trip.
Delta Vacations Online Booking Process

Online Booking Limitations

Not every Delta Vacations trip can be completed through the standard online booking process. Delta says certain more complicated reservations require assistance from its vacation experts.

Examples include:

  • More than four rooms, suites or villas
  • More than nine travelers when more than four are children
  • Escorted tours
  • Certain special-needs requests
  • Some upgrades requested after the original booking
  • Stays involving more than one city
  • Certain Hawaii itineraries involving more than one island

If your trip falls into one of these categories, contacting Delta Vacations before making the reservation can help determine how the booking needs to be handled.

What to Review in Each Package Component

Flights

Check the operating and marketing airline, flight times, connection points, cabin, fare conditions and baggage rules. Baggage allowances and fees may be different if another airline is involved.

Hotels and Resorts

Review the hotel name, room category, occupancy, meal plan and cancellation conditions. Do not assume that every hotel has the same cancellation policy.

Some properties and destinations have stricter or nonrefundable rules. Also, your reservation terms are important because they can differ from Delta Vacations' standard hotel rules.

Cars, Transfers and Activities

If you add a rental car, transfer or activity, check what is included and whether that component has separate cancellation or change restrictions.

Some activities, tickets and other travel products can be nonrefundable even when another part of the package remains refundable.

Delta Vacations Deposits, Payments and Pricing

Payment requirements depend on the destination, travel date and type of reservation.

Under Delta Vacations' standard payment policy:

  • Trips within 30 days generally require full payment when the reservation is confirmed.
  • For eligible domestic U.S. and Latin America trips booked more than 41 days before travel, payment may be made through a deposit and final payment.
  • For domestic U.S. and Latin America trips 31 to 40 days before departure, a deposit is not permitted and full payment is required within the applicable payment period.
  • Deposit and later final payment may be available for other destinations if booked over 31 days before departure.
  • Check the reservation for the applicable payment and final-payment requirements before completing the booking.

For hotel-only bookings without airfare, a $50 nonrefundable deposit per person is required. It should not be considered a standard deposit for every Delta Vacations package.

Costs That May Not Be Included

The package price shown may include some or all of the travel components selected; however, Delta Vacations’ terms state that some charges may be additional. Depending on the trip, these may include:

  • Passport or visa fees
  • Certain foreign departure taxes or government charges
  • Porterage
  • Gratuities
  • Resort fees
  • Energy surcharges
  • Airline baggage fees

Using SkyMiles for Delta Vacations

SkyMiles Members can use miles to pay for some or all of an eligible Delta Vacations package. Air & hotel, air & car, hotel & car, hotel with ground transportation or transfers and hotel only packages are eligible.

To use miles:

  1. Build your vacation package.
  2. Enter or attach your SkyMiles number.
  3. Continue to the purchase section.
  4. Select the option to use miles.
  5. Choose how many miles to apply.
  6. Review the remaining amount and complete the purchase.

Miles can be used for the traveler and other people included on the same reservation, subject to the applicable Delta Vacations terms.

All-Inclusive Delta Vacations

Delta Vacations has all-inclusive resorts in a number of destinations. An all-inclusive package can combine a Delta flight with an eligible resort where the property includes specified meals, drinks and other services.

When considering all-inclusive resort packages, look for:

  • What meals and drinks are covered
  • Whether the alcoholic drinks are included
  • Resort activities & entertainment
  • Airport transfers
  • Type of room
  • Resort fees and other hotel charges
  • Restrictions on cancellation
  • Any other chargeable services

When we say all-inclusive, we don’t mean every service at every resort is included. What you get is determined by the package description and the terms of the particular resort.

Delta Vacations Deals and Offers

Delta Vacations has a Deals & Offers section with categories such as exclusive offers, featured instant savings, hotel offers and perks, and offers promoted to SkyMiles Members.

Available promotions can change. A promotion may also have specific booking dates, travel dates, destinations, hotels or package requirements.

When reviewing a Delta Vacations package deal, check:

  • Expiry date of offer
  • Eligible travel dates
  • Destination or hotel required
  • Minimum booking conditions
  • Whether the offer applies automatically or if you need a code
  • Restriction on the type of room or package

Delta Vacations Changes and Cancellations

Delta Vacations’ change and cancellation policies vary by component, destination, hotel and timing. Delta Vacations' standard cancellation and change fees are charged per person.

For standard hotel cancellation and change rules, Delta currently lists:

Time before departure Standard hotel rule
31+ days No penalty for a hotel in a package with air, or $50 per person without air
11–30 days $100 per person
4–10 days $200 per person for the U.S. and Canada; $400 per person for other destinations
0–3 days Nonrefundable

These are standard hotel rules, not a universal cancellation policy for every part of a Delta Vacations reservation.

Generally, if you cancel 31 or more days before departure, Delta Vacations’ policy is to refund the required deposit amount as a travel certificate, after any applicable penalties and nonrefundable components. Any eligible amount paid in excess of the minimum deposit will be refunded to the original form of payment.

For cancellations less than 31 days before departure, the policy generally provides a Delta Vacations travel certificate for the applicable amount paid after cancellation fees, nonrefundable components and applicable airline credits are deducted.

Delta Vacations Bookings That Require Assistance

Some reservations need to be processed manually by Delta Vacations instead of the normal online booking process. If you have a more complex itinerary or if you are unable to find the options you want in the online system, you can call Delta Vacations.

Examples include:

  • Large or complex room bookings
  • Certain group or escorted-tour arrangements
  • Special-needs requests
  • Some multi-city itineraries
  • Certain multi-island Hawaii trips
  • Changes that cannot be completed online

Delta Vacations also lists 1-800-800-1504 for reservation and vacation assistance.

Managing Your Delta Vacations Reservation After Booking

Once your package is confirmed, you can view your reservation in My Trips on Delta.com.

For eligible reservations, Delta says you can enter the lead traveler's first and last name and booking number, or sign in through your SkyMiles account.

My Trips is the place to find reservation info and, when available, manage some reservation details. Delta specifically identifies updating options, such as:

  • Details of Frequent Flier Program or Membership
  • Passport details
  • Emergency contact

For other changes, like some itinerary or package changes, you may need to contact Delta Vacations.

To cancel an eligible reservation online, Delta says you can access the trip through My Trips, select the cancellation option and review the applicable fees before completing the request.

Keep your confirmation information available because the reservation number and lead traveler details may be required when accessing the booking or contacting Delta Vacations.

FAQs

Can I book a Delta Vacations trip less than 30 days before departure?
Yes. You can book some trips close to departure but the payment rules are more restrictive. Certain reservations within 30 days require full payment when confirmed, and availability depends on the destination, flights and hotel.
Are Delta Vacations prices shown in U.S. dollars?
Yes. Prices quoted are shown in U.S. dollars, as per Delta Vacations' booking terms. The confirmed reservation price can still be affected by applicable taxes, fees or other charges that are not included in the displayed package price.
Are resort fees included in a Delta Vacations package?
Not necessarily. Resort fees may not be included in the package price according to Delta Vacations’ terms. Select the specifics of the specific hotel and package rates.
Can I book a Hawaii vacation with more than one island?
Certain multi-island itineraries to Hawaii cannot be booked through the standard Delta Vacations online booking process. Contact Delta Vacations if your itinerary includes multiple islands.
Can Delta Vacations include a partner-airline flight?
The airline choices available will depend on the package and itinerary. Delta Vacations' terms state that Delta Vacations issues the airline tickets, while airfare involving carriers other than Delta can be subject to that carrier's applicable rules.
Can I use more than 999,999 SkyMiles for a Delta Vacations booking?
Online vacation bookings can use up to 999,999 miles. If you want to apply more than that amount, Delta Vacations says you must contact its customer engagement center.
